Time’s a Wastin’

We are now less than a month away from the 54th Annual IEC National Convention & Electric Expo. We’ve been telling you about all the great learning opportunities, networking, and good times you will receive if you attend our event. The real question is, have you registered yet?

If not, do it NOW. IEC has extended the regular registration rates and the hotel room block! You now have until the end of Friday, September 16, to save money on regular registration rates and discounted hotel rooms. After this deadline, the IEC hotel room block will no longer be available to attendees, and registration rates will increase.

You know what they say…time is money; and it couldn’t be truer when making travel arrangements. The longer you wait, the more it’s going to cost you. After you read this post and immediately click here to register, then click here to reserve your hotel room, don’t forget about other travel arrangements!

Are you within driving distance? Lucky you! If not, chances are that you will need to purchase airfare. The longer you wait to make these travel arrangements, the more it’s going to cost you. Bing Travel is perhaps the most convenient tool when booking airfare. It tells you when to book and when to wait. Here is what Bing has to say about booking flights out of some of our member-populous cities:

San Antonio - $255; 82% chance prices will rise in 7 days.
Denver - $279; 76% chance prices will increase.
St. Louis - $161; 50% chance prices will increase within 30 days.
Atlanta - $298; 80% chance prices will rise within 7 days.
Portland - $364, 74% chance prices will rise within 30 days.

Moral of the story? Don’t hesitate when it comes to making travel plans. Set some time aside today to register for our convention (because you won’t want to miss it), reserve a hotel room, and book your travel method (plane, train, or automobile).

See you in a month!

Your Blueprint to Success…the IEC National Convention

If you are familiar with the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), then you are well aware the IEC National Convention is the premier event for the electrical contracting community. If you are unfamiliar with either the IEC or the annual national convention, visit the IEC National website for more details.

This year’s convention will take place October 11-14 in Louisville, Kentucky, at the Kentucky International Convention Center and the Marriott Louisville Downtown. We are excited for all the educational and networking opportunities, fun events, and new ideas we have in store for you.

Throughout the summer and fall, we will be posting more exciting and pertinent information about the upcoming convention, but for our inaugural post, here are some quick reasons why you should attend:

  • Educational Sessions. Learn about the latest developments in the electrical industry, management practices, and more by attending our informative educational sessions. Sessions will be offered on a range of topics that will help advance both your business and your career.
  • IEC Electric Expo 2011. Network with the top manufacturers and service providers to stay informed about the newest innovations and latest products in the electrical industry.
  • Events.  Connect with other peers in your industry to share best practices at any of the convention’s fun and exciting networking events, such as the Platinum Partner Party.
  • Louisville. Enjoy all that Louisville and the local chapter, IECA of Kentucky and Southern Indiana, have to offer! Louisville is home to many fun and exciting attractions including the Urban Bourbon Trail, the Louisville Slugger Museum, and the famous Churchill Downs…the idyllic setting for the Kentucky Derby.
